GeeksVsNerds Return and Refund Policy
At GeeksVsNerds, we value our customers and strive to provide top-quality products and services. Our returns and refunds policy follows the guidelines set out by the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) under the Fair Trading Act 1987 (NSW) to ensure your consumer rights are protected. This policy applies to all purchases made within New South Wales, Australia.
1. Australian Consumer Law – Your Rights
Under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), you are entitled to a refund, replacement, or repair if a product you purchased:
- Has a major fault or defect, making it unsafe or unfit for its intended purpose.
- Is significantly different from the description or demonstration provided.
- Does not function as advertised, or there was a failure in service quality.
Please note, you are not entitled to a refund or replacement if you:
- Change your mind, decide you no longer want the product, or found it cheaper elsewhere.
- Have damaged the product due to misuse after purchase.
- Are aware of defects before purchase or purchased the product as a clearance item with known faults.
2. Return Eligibility
To qualify for a return or refund, your item must:
- Be returned within 30 days of the purchase date.
- Be in its original condition, unused, and in the original packaging (unless faulty).
- Include proof of purchase (receipt or tax invoice) from GeeksVsNerds.
3. Returning Faulty or Damaged Goods
If you believe your product is faulty or damaged:
- Contact us immediately at sensei@geeksvsnerds.com.au and provide details of the fault, along with a copy of your receipt.
- We will assess the product to determine whether it has a major or minor fault:
- Minor Fault: We will offer a repair, replacement, or partial refund.
- Major Fault: You can choose between a replacement, full refund, or repair.
- We will advise if the faulty product needs to be returned. If so, we will provide a prepaid shipping label or arrange pickup.
4. Change of Mind Returns
Unfortunately, GeeksVsNerds does not offer returns or refunds for change of mind purchases. However, we may offer an exchange or store credit at our discretion if the item is in resellable condition and returned within 14 days of purchase. The original packaging must be intact, and shipping fees are non-refundable.
5. Return Process
To return a product, please follow these steps:
- Contact us at sensei@geeksvsnerds.com.au with your order details and reason for return.
- We will provide you with a Return Authorization (RA) number and instructions for shipping the item back.
- Securely package the item, including the RA number and original proof of purchase.
- Return the item to the address provided within 14 days after receiving the RA.
6. Refund Process
Once your returned item is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund:
- If approved, the refund will be processed within 7 business days to your original method of payment.
- Refunds for returned items do not include any shipping charges, unless the product was faulty or damaged.
7. Shipping Costs
- For faulty or damaged items, GeeksVsNerds will cover all shipping costs.
- For change of mind returns, you are responsible for shipping costs, unless otherwise agreed.
8. Exceptions
Please note that certain items are non-returnable:
- Perishable goods, such as food or consumables.
- Gift cards.
- Custom or personalized items.
- Items listed as final sale or clearance.
